However, as the conflicts escalated, the characters' reactions seemed to devolve until they became two-dimensional. Though they played only bit roles, the entitled male characters Trip and Mr. Richardson , were emotionally limited and frankly stereotypical, which, rather than elevating the females in the story, makes their attachments e.
